Colleen Brophy "Youth in Medicine" Scholarship Recipient Announced

HAMILTON, NEW JERSEY – The Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hamilton (RWJ Hamilton) Foundation is pleased to announce Hamilton High West student Colleen Brophy is this year’s recipient of the Youth in Medicine scholarship award funded by The Fruscione Foundation.
An internship at RWJ Hamilton and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey Hamilton will be customized to reflect Miss Brophy's interest in cancer. Upon successful completion of her internship and formal acceptance of an admissions offer to a college or university, a $2,000 scholarship award will be paid directly to the college or university towards her tuition.
Fruscione Foundation Fosters Careers in Healthcare and Medicine The Fruscione Foundation Youth in Medicine endowment was established in 1996 and designed to introduce high school students to career opportunities within the medical and/or healthcare professions.
The Youth in Medicine scholarship is granted to a student living in Hamilton Township who has demonstrated an interest in medicine and/or the healthcare profession and has been academically qualified by reason of demonstrated interest in science and/or a record of academic achievement. Eligible students during their junior year at a secondary public or parochial school in Mercer County were encouraged to apply by the May 1 deadline. Scholarship applications were reviewed by the Fruscione Foundation and the RWJ Hamilton Foundation this spring.
